"A wonderful album of music for the trio of flute, viola and harp. There's everything from a transcription of a Mozart sonata to a brand new work by Canadian composer Marjan Mozetic. The Cesar Cui pieces are delightful. All of the music on the album is friendly to the listener, and if you have a flute, harp and viola trio, you won't want to miss these performances. Trio Lyra is one of the world's best, and their work is always exciting and interesting." - The Harp Connection
Trio Lyra is internationally renowned for their artistic interpretations of the French trio repertoire. Here they weave their way through the music of Ibert and Cui. Also on the album is a masterful performance of Mozart's "Trio Sonata".
Passionate in their heralding of new music, Mosaics also includes two works by Canadian composers: Milton Barnes and Marjan Mozetich. The warmth and lyrical nature of "Goodbye My Friend" and "Tango 99" complement beautifully the other delightful chamber music pieces on the album to form a musical mosaic, from Mozart to Mozetich.
The musicians of Trio Lyra are: Suzanne Shulman, flute; Mark Childs, viola; and Erica Goodman, harp
