						| "An affectionate and enjoyable retrospective of music by Louis Applebaum (1918-2000) who for 43 seasons served Ontario's Stratford Festival as its resident composer...
A variety of Applebaum's Shakespearean production items are here. The most fun comes in a delightfully tipsy love song from Troilus and Cressida (1963) plus a few gems from Love's Labour's Lost (1992). Expert performances and a bright, forward recording make this a fresh treat." - James Manishen, The Winnipeg Free Press
"A handsomely produced tribute to the late dean not only of Stratford but of all Canadian theatre composers…Louis Applebaum, whose fanfares continue to summon playgoers to every performance at the [Stratford] Festival Theatre. A gilt-edged list of performers [includes] tenor Richard Margison, actors Christopher Plummer, Juan Chioran and Colm Feore and the Elmer Iseler Singers, with Glenn Morley as arranger, conductor and producer. - William Littler, Toronto Star

Fanfare is a tribute to the renowned Canadian composer Louis Applebaum who died in April 2000. It features - of course! - the famous Stratford fanfares. There are also new arrangements by Glenn Morley of Lou's most beautiful songs and music - composed over his more-than-forty-year association with the Stratford Festival. This music for soloists, orchestra and choir was arranged, conducted and produced by Glenn Morley. The music was recorded on July 5 and 6, 2000 at the Toronto Centre for the Arts.

With: Richard Margison, tenor, Christopher Plummer, The Elmer Iseler Singers and: Craig Ashton, Juan Chioran, Colm Feore, Barbara Fulton, Richard Monette, and Steve Ross from The Stratford Festival Company

Lou Applebaum was one of Canada's pre-eminent classical composers of the last half century. He was the original Music Director of the Stratford Festival, for whom he wrote scores for plays for almost every season since it was founded in 1953.
