"…the musical accord is instantaneous and provocative... Anne-Marie Donovan gives a stellar performance…her rich, warm voice tenderly melding with the changing flow of the string ensemble.” — Performing Arts Magazine

Glenn Buhr's music shows many influences: the classical tradition, jazz, Broadway, and music of the Near East and India. The music on this CD presents many of these influences in a vibrant and appealing collection. The repertoire includes his String Quartet no. 1, and his String Quartet no. 2 (sixblues), which is a set of variations of Charles Mingus's "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat." Also featured is the beautiful "Ritchot Mass," composed during the devastating Manitoba floods in 1997.

Glenn's music is performed by The Penderecki String Quartet, mezzo-soprano Anne-Marie Donovan and the University of Manitoba Singers, conducted by Henry Engebrecht.
